Our aim is to bring high quality products and services to our customers. We all follow our motto which has helped us achieve success: "Everything we do must taste great!"
It seems much longer to us, however, last year we celebrated our first 20 years on the market. From the beginning, our aim was to bring good quality products and unbeatable services to our customers. In all of our endeavours, we follow our motto: "Everything we make must taste good!"
Since we began, we have gained a strong reputation in the Central and Eastern European sandwich market, and now we rank among the biggest European sandwich producers. Our distribution centres in Prague (headquarters), Brno, Budapest (since 2007) and Vienna provide a daily distribution of fresh sandwiches to more than 3,500 customers across all the sales channels such as supermarkets, convenience stores, airport catering, filling stations, vending operators and sports, cultural and amusement centres.
Our production plant, located in Zizelice nad Cidlinou, is one of the most modern sandwich manufacturing plants in Europe, including an in-house industrial type bakery as well as a meat processing unit. We are certified by all the main European food standards organizations including BCR and IFS (level A). We consider food safety as one of our strongest values.
Besides our packaged sandwich production, we operate a chain of 7 high street fast food outlets called Bageterie Boulevard, where we demonstrate our competence with regard to product development and in-store creativity.
Throughout our business units and departments we employ over 700 people. Thanks to our high quality and great service, consumers chose our product over 26 million times during last year.
Our way
Despite the fact that we have been growing quite rapidly over the last decade, we strive to remain a flexible and independent company. We carry out our business exclusively with our own resources, meaning that we are not forced to make any decisions under financial pressure nor enter into projects we might not enjoy. Although we see endless opportunities in the world around us, we carefully consider the appropriate rate of expansion for us, based on real financial and human resources. Compared to larger corporations, the business model of Crocodille is based on vertical integration, where all main processes are performed in-house. Besides manufacturing, we also perform distribution to every sales point ourselves. Most of our products are sold from our green refrigerators or vending machines. We provide a full service solution to all of our clients, where they need not worry about expired products which we buy back from them at the full price. We believe that only with such a contained chain of internal processes can we guarantee our consumers the consistent quality of our sandwiches.
Our plans
Our aim for this year is to continue complementing our traditional sandwich portfolio with new categories of snacks, including salads, a range of smoothies and sweet bars. Our strategy is to create a whole "shop in a shop" tailored to provide a full range of refreshments for our customers whether during their workday or on a trip.
We intend to strengthen our position further on the German market. In November 2011 we concluded the strategic purchase of the German company Bakestreet, one of the largest plants for the production of sandwiches in the country. We are preparing the conditions to enable us to open a new branch in Berlin in spring 2012, and to launch our system onto the market in Germany.
